Calibration Procedure

(    )         Install the knob on the shaft of the RATE control [front panel].

 

(    )         Set the RATE control pointer to the OFF position.

 

·         RATE control should be on the right side of circuit board. (see Figure 1)

 

(    )         Set the MAXIMUM RATE control [on the circuit board] to maximum counter-clockwise.

 

(    )         Set the MINIMUM RATE control [on the circuit board] to maximum counter-clockwise.

 

(    )         Install two fresh 9-volt batteries

 

(    )         Set the RATE control pointer to the 60 position on the front dial.

 

(    )         If no clicking is heard, increase the RATE control until clicking is heard.

 

(    )         Set the RATE control pointer to the 60 position.

 

·         It may be necessary to adjust the threaded thumbscrew on the rear of the unit to obtain a loud enough click.

 

(    )         Make an initial beat count for 15 seconds.

 

(    )         Adjust the MINIMUM RATE control until 60 beats-per-minute is obtained.

               (15 clicks in 15 seconds)

 

(    )         Set the RATE control pointer to the 180 position on the front dial.

 

(    )         Make an initial beat count for 15 seconds.

 

(    )         Adjust the MAXIMUM RATE control until 180 beats-per-minute is obtained.

               (45 clicks in 15-seconds)

 

(    )*       Set the RATE control pointer to the 60 position.

 

(    )*       Adjust the MINIMUM RATE control until 60 beats-per-minute is obtained.

 

(    )*       Set the RATE control pointer to the 180 position.

 

(    )*       Adjust the MAXIMUM RATE control until 180 beats-per-minute is obtained.

 

(    )         Repeat the above four marked steps* until the two proper beats-per-minute are obtained.

 

(    )         Set the RATE control to the OFF position.

 

(    )         Calibration procedure is complete.
